Todd is one of many technical experts who write creatively about the next steps in space exploration. Field effect and warp were forbidden topics in the main stream of science only a few years ago, while many qualified people were trying to say that something fundamental is missing from physical science. Then it was revealed that government agencies were working on the topics with some expectation of eventual success. Now the topics can be discussed openly in respectable society, but with futuristic impressions. A new generation of writers like Todd are looking for tangible results that can be accomplished in a life time or sooner.

The limitations are large energy requirements, extreme distance, short time, and practical materials of construction.

The editors are looking for next steps that are testable and achievable with reasonable extension of existing technology. Astrojed (talk) 12:19, 12 November 2015 (PST)
